The start of a legacy

The elaboration of the classic wine as it has always been at the service of the new technologies after more than one century of history.

This winery is located in the village of Azagra. There, the family Fernández de Manzanos started elaborating and commercializing their wines, more than 125 years ago, when no appellation existed.

The infrastructure has been remodelled, so it is still possible to elaborate the classic style wine, but using new techniques that have been introduced. Apart from the brand El Lagar de la Aldea, other wines are also elaborated there, such as: Portil de Lobos, La Heredada, Marqués de Araiz and Davne.

The small town of Aldeanueva de Ebro is known for its agricultural richness.

The town is surrounded by a sea of vineyards and most people make a living out of the elaboration of wines. But if we take a close look, there is one specific vineyard that stands out. This one has a little lagar (wine press) that make people admire and quickly identify it. The brand El lagar de la Aldea is inspired in the beauty that this vineyard owned by the family Fernández de Manzanos conveys.
